"The driver was on time for the journey to the hospital. For the return journey I would have been ready earlier but no complaints as hospital appointments are notoriously hard to predict and it would have been asking a lot to expect him any earlier at relatively short notice. We stuck with the original time, and in fact he did turn up a little in advance of this. The return journey was a bit of a nightmare because of the traffic but things like that are largely out of the driver’s control. I’d like to add that having had a ridiculously exasperating experience paying online with another taxi company last week it was nice just to have a relatively straightforward experience booking the ride this time. Things like that matter, even if last week’s journey (the same) was a lot cheaper. One recommendation: I think companies should be more up front about their policies on tipping. Or Taxicode should be. Asking for a tip below seems a bit belated and sneaky, especially as the ride itself wasn’t cheap and the cost of everything is going up. Something to be said for the more traditional kinds of taxi ride, where you book it over the phone and pay the driver in cash at the end of the journey plus a tip then while the iron is hot! It might be worth including some text on your website explaining the benefits of doing it the way you do - for the benefit of us older people!"
